Sponsored Ad Helper does NOT collect, transmit, or share any personal information or browsing data. The extension operates entirely locally on your device.
Data Storage
The extension stores only the following user preferences locally and in Chrome sync storage:
- Highlight toggle state (on/off)
- Hide ads toggle state (on/off)
- Highlight color preference
This data is stored using Chrome’s storage API and may be synced across your Chrome browsers if you have Chrome sync enabled. This data remains private and is never transmitted to any external servers or third parties.
Permissions Usage
The extension requests the following permissions:
- activeTab: Used only to interact with the active Google search page when you use the extension
- storage: Used only to save your preferences (highlight settings and color choice)
- scripting: Used only to run the script that identifies and highlights sponsored results on Google
The extension only runs on Google search pages (google.com) and does not access, collect, or transmit any data from these or any other pages.
Third-Party Access
Sponsored Ad Helper does not share any data with third parties. No analytics, tracking, or external services are used. The extension contains no advertisements.
